The mission of Rest Stops is to normalize intentional pauses as a vital part of mental health — helping people slow down, reconnect with themselves, and build sustainable well-being through small, accessible actions.

We aim to replace burnout culture with permission, urgency with presence, and guilt with grace — one rest stop at a time.

What is the Rest Stops Campaign?

Rest Stops is a mental health awareness campaign built on a simple idea:
you don’t need to change your whole life to take care of yourself — you just need intentional pauses.

Inspired by the way we pull off the road to refuel, stretch, or breathe for a moment, Rest Stops focuses on small, realistic practices and how much time they actually take. This campaign offers guidance on what to do, when to do it, and how to build sustainable habits without pressure or perfection.

Through weekly themes, practical prompts, and reflective moments, Rest Stops meets people where they are — whether they have five minutes, fifteen, or an hour — and reminds them that stopping is not falling behind. It’s part of the journey.

What are our Goals for “Rest Stops

1. Make mental health care feel doable
Break down self-care into realistic actions with clear time frames, so people aren’t overwhelmed or excluded by “do more” messaging.

2. Normalize rest as productive, not indulgent
Shift the narrative from constant motion to intentional pausing, reinforcing that rest is a necessary part of growth, healing, and connection.

3. Provide structure without pressure
Offer weekly themes and gentle guidance that people can engage with at their own pace — no streaks, no shame, no falling behind.

4. Encourage reflection and self-connection
Create space for people to check in with themselves honestly, without needing to fix or optimize what they find.

5. Build a shared language around slowing down
Help people talk about mental health in a way that feels approachable, human, and grounded in everyday life.
